Tax reporting
Is my business eligible for a 1099-K?

1099-K Thresholds

A 1099-K is a tax form that summarizes payments received for goods or services for the tax year. A 1099-K may be issued when your payments meet the applicable reporting threshold based on your tax residency or state rules.

Federal Threshold

The federal threshold is:

  • More than $20,000 in payments, AND
  • More than 200 transactions

State Thresholds

Some states have lower thresholds than the federal threshold. The tax year 2025 state-specific thresholds are:

State Threshold
Arkansas $2,500 or more
District of Columbia $600 or more
Illinois $1,000 or more and 4 or more separate transactions
Maryland $600 or more
Massachusetts $600 or more
Montana $600 or more
New Jersey $1,000 or more
Vermont $600 or more
Virginia $600 or more

If you receive a 1099-K you believe you are not eligible for, you can reach out to us at support@strike.me to request a revision by March 15.
