Tax forms will be available in mid-February for the preceding tax year and can be accessed in the Strike app by following these steps:
If you request a correction to your tax form and a new document is issued prior to the tax filing date, a new document will be made available within the Strike app, replacing the original. However, if the correction is made after the tax filing date, a new “Corrected” tax form will be issued alongside the original, uncorrected tax form.
If you sold or otherwise disposed of bitcoin in a taxable transaction on Strike, you will be issued the below tax form. If you made no taxable transactions, then you will not receive any tax form. Tax forms are issued to both you and the IRS in compliance with tax laws.
If you sold or disposed of bitcoin using Strike in 2024 or in prior years, you’ll receive Form 1099-B for the applicable year, detailing your taxable bitcoin transactions.
Starting with the 2025 tax year, Form 1099-DA will be issued for all taxable bitcoin transactions, specifically designed for digital assets, including bitcoin. Read more about Form 1099-DA here.
If your Strike account is now closed, but you made a taxable transaction in the preceding year, a PDF of your tax form will be sent to the email address you used with your Strike account, along with a secure link to an annual transaction summary as a CSV file.
